Nearly 100 Houston companies make 2018 Inc.5000 list

Greater Houston has 99 companies on the 2018 Inc. 5000 list, which the magazine released Aug. 15. That’s down from 113 last year, but Houston is still made the top 10 list of cities with the most Inc. 5000 companies. With 72 companies within its city limits, Houston took the No. 8 spot, ahead of No. 9 Dallas with 64 but behind No. 6 Austin with 82 in its city limits. Inc. ranks U.S. privately held, for-profit companies by revenue growth from 2014 to 2017. The Houston Business Journal also ranks fast-growing private companies on its annual Fast 100 List, but that's ranked by two-year revenue growth.
