Jeremy, better known as Chef J-Perk, is the owner of Southern Barbecue Boys, based in Coconut Creek, Florida. A self-taught private chef, he specializes in authentic Southern cuisine, with a bold focus on Louisiana flavors and African American Southern traditions. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, and raised in South Florida, Jeremy has a deep-rooted passion for Southern cooking—not just mastering it, but preserving its rich history and pushing its flavors forward.

With over five years in the barbecue scene, Chef J-Perk has dedicated himself to perfecting his craft, from slow-smoked meats to soulful Southern comfort food. He’s competed in the Fort Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival Barbecue Competition for four consecutive years, earning the title of Fan Favorite in 2023. While barbecue is his signature, his love for classic Southern dishes runs just as deep, celebrating the flavors that define the South.

Through his catering and on-site cooking services, he brings soulful, flavor-packed meals to birthday parties, family reunions, and corporate events. More than just serving great food, his mission is to educate and share the stories behind Southern cuisine—keeping tradition alive, one plate at a time.
