In your element: 5 tips for a FIREDISC Halloween party

Consider this the burial of the ho-hum Halloween.

A holiday such as Halloween deserves a cooker such as FIREDISC. You know this round beauty is the center of many a party. Halloween is no different.

Bust out your ‘disc on Oct. 31.

What are the origins of Halloween?

You can trace its roots back to Samhain, the old Celtic festival. Folks lit bonfires and wore costumes to scare away spirits. All Saints Day was Nov. 1, and it soon took on some of the practices of Samhain. The Day of the Dead, All Saints Day, and Halloween assumed common themes.

How to throw a FIREDISC Halloween blowout

Cook in great quantity with a FIREDISC® cooker. That’s  one reason to make it the center of your Halloween. Here are others.

Serve something spooky

Last year, we unveiled Bloody Brains and Eyeballs. And FIREDISC® Halloween Bloody Hot Dog Fingers. This year, add Sommer’s Spooky Monster Donuts to the mix, don’t forget to make homemade donuts and fry them in your disc. Cook to the quantity you need with these.

TRY THIS: Whether they’re dollar-store-bought or homemade, party decorations are a must. Have a craft day with the kids before the party.

Not all decorations need be scary

It’s fall, y’all. Many of you have already made the jump to fall decorations. So toss around some pumpkins and other fall looks in the mix. Scarecrows, hay bales … you know the drill.

TRY THIS: Send out invites, even if it’s online. Give a good sense of what kind of party you have in mind (BYOB or not to BYOB. That is the question.)

Gotta have the S’mores

Go all abstract on this classic fall treat. Put out peanut butter cups with the chocolate bars (check on allergies first). Supplement graham crackers with big chocolate chip cookies.

TRY THIS: If a S’mores bar is too much, this tried and true FIREDISC® S’mores Bake will please the crowd.

Don’t forget the drinks

Guests won’t linger if they’re thirsty. Ask guests to bring their own, or have some soda and waters available. It doesn’t have to be fancy.

TRY THIS: This awesome Witches’ Brew is great for grown folk (pro vodka) or kids (anti vodka.)

Stay flexible

With Halloween parties — on Oct. 31 or otherwise — you never know what to expect. You might have unexpected guests, inclement weather, or beautiful weather! Keep some hot dogs or your go-to recipe ready.

TRY THIS: A scavenger hunt is a great way to keep the kids occupied. Add items to the list as you see fit.

It’s a fun time of year, FIREDISC Nation. Use these tips for fall outdoor cooking, and have a blast.
