Kaden Blacke – KB’s Outdoor Kitchen/Food Over Hate
“FireDisc Cookers are my secret weapon—portable, tough, and ready for anything I throw at it. Whether I’m competing against the pros or cooking for a crowd under the open sky, it’s the perfect setup to bring my flavors to life and keep chasing my culinary dreams.”
— Kaiden Blake
I’m Kaiden Blake, the young chef behind FoodOverHate and KB’s Outdoor Kitchen, and I’m on a mission to turn my big dreams into reality—one dish at a time. At just 16 years old, I’ve already navigated a life-changing pivot that’s shaped who I am today. Growing up, sports were my world. I poured my heart into every practice, every game, thriving on the rush of competition and the grind of pushing my limits. But life threw me a curveball when a medical issue sidelined me from the field for good. At first, I wasn’t sure where to turn—until I stepped into the kitchen.
What began as a way to fill the void quickly ignited into a full-blown passion. Cooking became my new playing field, and I approached it with the same fire I once brought to sports. I traded tackling opponents for mastering recipes, swapping sprints for knife skills, and found that the thrill of perfecting a dish rivaled any game-winning moment. I dove in headfirst—experimenting with bold flavors, refining techniques, and challenging myself to elevate every plate. It didn’t take long for me to realize this wasn’t just a hobby; it was my calling.
Now, I’m chasing a dream bigger than any scoreboard: to share my love for food with the world, travel far and wide, and compete as a chef on the grandest stages. I’ve already gotten a taste of the action, going head-to-head with seasoned pros at the Shed Showdown, where I placed an impressive 7th out of 87 adult competitors. That was just the warmup. With FoodOverHate, I’m all about spreading positivity through every bite, breaking down barriers, and bringing people together over a shared love of great eats. And with KB’s Outdoor Kitchen, I’m taking my cooking to the open air—whether it’s firing up the grill at a music festival, feeding a crowd under the stars, or perfecting a smoky brisket in my backyard setup.
This is only the start of my journey. I’m hungry to grow, to compete, and to keep serving up food that tells a story. From local pop-ups to global stages, I’m ready to take my passion as far as it’ll carry me—and I’d love for you to come along for the ride.
