All you need for the perfect cookout

Any knucklehead can toss some frozen patties on a rickety gas grill and call it a cookout.

The park is a good spot, but so too is your backyard. Depends on how many folks you invite. Your location should be comfortable, legal, and have some shade.

Here’s where you delegate. Know who will go the extra mile and make their grandma’s ridiculous mac and cheese. Remember who brought the cupcakes everyone loved last time. Pick the dude with the most varied taste in beer. And pick a parent who will think of all the stuff kids would eat at a cookout. 

  1. Set the menu

Have an ample trash can and fun yard games to play  — or at least a couple of Frisbees and Nerf footballs.
