Doughnut Holes

Deep fried sweetness that will melt in your mouth. Warning: These doughnut holes are so good that popping in mouth may become addictive. Makes about 3 dozen doughnut holes. Make sure you have the following items: deep fry thermometer and a small ice cream scoop.
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 1/2 qts frying oil
  • 1 c whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 c unsalted melted butter
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 c coconut
  • 1/2 c mini chocolate chips
PREPARATION:
  • Whisk the milk and eggs together in a small bowl
  • In a separate bowl combine the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  • Mix the liquid mixture into the dry, add the melted butter and mix until a dough forms.
  • Add the oil to the FIREDISC® and set the heat to high
  • Bring the oil to 350 degrees.
  • Use the ice cream scoop to drop small balls.
  • Fry in small batches, about 6 at a time.
  • Transfer doughnut holes to a paper lined plate with a slotted spoon.
  • Top with chocolate cips and coconut, allow to cool and serve!
